Some frequent questions

Is life coaching like counselling?

Life coaching is very different from counselling.

Counselling and psychotherapy are professional mental health specialties that involve exploring a client’s past, and healing traumas.

Coaching is action oriented and forward-thinking. It’s about acknowledging where you are now and moving forward, to create exciting new ventures and opportunities in the future.

Do you offer single sessions?

Not currently. I prefer to work with clients in a series of sessions over a period of time.

Do you have longer coaching packages?

If you’re interested in a longer coaching package, book a Clarity Call and we can talk about it.

Am I expected to do homework between sessions?

You will get the best results from your coaching series if you invest in some time for yourself, in between sessions.

To move towards achieving goals, and/ or to get change happening, I encourage clients to set actions between sessions. This could be researching, journalling, practicing new skills. It’s different for every client.

As coach, one of my roles is to provide accountability and witnessing for achieving goals.

Practical details

How often are the coaching sessions?

My six session package is normally delivered in fortnightly intervals. I find that’s a good time to allow for integration and work towards tasks, practice and/or reflection.

Can I have more time between sessions?

There’s flexibility for life events. However, I find that momentum may get lost when there is a big gap between sessions.

Payment details

Your investment is $US560 for the coaching package.

I accept payment in Paypal and Stripe.

I charge in $US.  It’s easier to charge in one currency and many of my clients are in the US. Also, everyone knows about $US, whereas not everyone is familiar with New Zealand currency!

New Zealand clients may pay in $NZ by direct bank deposit.

Session times may be changed up to 48 hours ahead, however I prefer as much notice as possible as I have other clients wanting to book in.

Refund policy

If you’re not keen to continue after your first session, let me know within 48 hours and I will happily refund your payment for the remaining five sessions, less an admin fee.

Kind words from clients:

Held. Encouraged. Magic

We had just shifted house, again, after a house-build plan fell through. My goals were around wanting to do something for me and finding ways to manage a chaotic reality which comes from moving house and not living your best life.

I was in need of someone to help me make sense of conflicting needs, wants & obligations. I felt hopeful and reluctant.

In the first session I noticed a kind of magic happens when you engage someone else to hold you accountable for what you set out on together.

The magic of accountability.

Through the process of Life Coaching with Alice, I have been able to clarify what makes me tick, and make changes to bring aspects of those things into my life.

The major change for me has been being able to activate a spiritual life and practice.

Before, I would’ve lost motivation easily and fallen back into judgement and disbelief. Having someone who ‘believed in me’ without judgement allowed me to honestly explore it and bring so much more into reality.

And from there it has snowballed into new things. A new belief and direction.

Expanding, fulfilling, worthwhile

I knew I had a lot of creative energy, but I didn’t know where to begin.

The biggest change I’ve noticed after working with Alice is that I am now putting my own needs first.  I still get everything that is needed done in the day, but I now make space for my creative expression.  This has become a priority.

And the flow-on effect has been profound.  Because I feel more fulfilled, I’m able to handle the challenges of my day with so much more ease.

Rather than giving me the answers I was looking for, Alice kept reminding me to “get curious” as to why I did certain things / thought a certain way.

I really feel like some profound shifts happened during our time together.

I am so pleased that my creativity is now flowing – each and every day!

Supportive, productive, positive

Before I started coaching I was feeling disconnected, unmotivated.

I was trying to create an online business and different lifestyle.

I was doubtful about goal setting and if I would stick to any goal.

By the end of that first session I had a purpose. I was hopeful, ready to get to work.

This was a great experience. I wasn’t pressured in any way and you gave me lots of ideas, which helped me go about things.

I can see the results of the structures I have set up behind the scenes that will now help me to carry on.

Practical, supportive, affirming

I was struggling to feel confident about my painting practice and to find the time to be creative. I hoped to make more of a place for art in my life.

I was a little apprehensive about coaching at first because I wasn’t sure what I might focus on, but as soon as I read the initial questionnaire I was excited about the possibilities.

What I liked: Being taken through a process which worked so well, being able to have feedback and guidance to further the depth of my thinking.

I feel much more confident about my art practice and my ability to cope with roadblocks. I now have a plan which I look forward to using.

I liked being set tasks to do each session, and having a framework which we were working through, allowing me to clarify my goals and create my plan.

I liked the way the process allowed for deepening my thinking.

I feel much more confident in my own skills and my ability to grow as an artist; to quickly deal with the negative voice during my art practice.

Life transforming experience

Before the coaching series, I was struggling with finding my inner creative spark. I didn’t ever make time for myself.

Alice is a very warm person and she made me feel very comfortable and explained the process well.

I loved that she was so relatable.

The biggest intangible result for me has been inner transformation through meditation and gratitude practice.

My self-worth has improved a lot and also my confidence. I am more confident when talking to people, both at work and outside of work.

I’m now expressing my creativity through styling my home and myself. I’m showing the real me.

Supported. Encouraging. Powerful.

When I signed up for coaching I was in transition between jobs.

I wanted to make a smooth transition to my new school.

Beyond that, I wasn’t sure where I was headed in life.

After the first session I felt supported and excited about looking to my future.

Alice, you came into my life at the perfect time. You helped me navigate a set of life experiences that I don’t think we could have predicted at the start of our journey.

Friends and loved ones say that I am glowing, confident and not stressed.  They say I look better and more relaxed.  They see my new strength.

I am at peace and content with my decisions.  I haven’t seen this Sam for a long time, if ever before.
